Building a new Molalla Police Station

In November of 2023 voters within the City of Molalla approved a bond levy to construct a new Police Station by a slim margin. Although the process for moving forward on this project has reached a fervent pace recently, the project really began in 2012 when former Police Chief Rod Lucich began to express the need for a new station. The City began to put money away for this endeavor and in 2015 the City purchased the old Bowling Alley property on Grange Avenue in 2021.


Some of you will remember that the Bowling Alley had been abandoned and was in a state of decay since about 2017. The City held an auction of left behind Bowling Alley equipment in 2022. We saved two items from the old building: bowling pins and the bowling alley lanes. Bowling pins have been decorated and sold to raise funding for our park system and the old alleys have been safely stored and will be incorporated into the new Police Station.


Where does that leave us today?

Design and development of final plans for the new Police Facility are almost complete. The City Council approved an early procurement of masonry, electrical, mechanical, steel, and other long-term items so that we are ready when these items are needed. Architects are working toward building permitting and these applications have been filed with the Clackamas County Building Department.


Be looking for groundbreaking in mid-July this summer!
