Why are we installing the new Fox Park equipment if we are unable to buy or lease the property from the school district?

Thank you for your question!  This has been a topic of continued contemplation by City leadership.  Up until July of this year, the City was under the impression that a purchase or long-term lease would be completed after the School Bond Election.  This belief was based on more than 25-years of tenancy/partnership, and consistent contact with the District regarding longer term tenancy.

With that said, this equipment has been on order for a few months, prior to any indication the District would be resistant to a purchase or long-term lease.  Partial payment was rendered in order to get 20% off and free shipping (about $5k in savings).

The City continues to hope that an acceptable solution will be reached to keep Fox Park and the Public Library in place, but will discontinue all capital improvements on the park (after the new tot playground is installed) until a purchase or long-term lease is executed.

    Sincerely,

    The Molalla Current Project Team
