The City of Molalla is currently in construction on a NEW WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT, here are some highlights:
- Changes the treatment process from activated sludge lagoons to a sequencing batch reactor.
- Increases treatment capacity to approximately 15,000 people.
- Modular in nature for simpler and less costly expansion when needed.
- Changes the lagoons from a treatment facility to clean water holding ponds.
- Decreases risk of environmental hazards.
- Increases options for recycled water re-use.
- Changes the disinfection process from chlorine infusion to ultraviolet light.
- Reduced carbon footprint.
- Substantial cost savings on chlorine.
