New Wastewater Treatment Plant!

The City of Molalla is currently in construction on a NEW WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT, here are some highlights:

• Changes the treatment process from activated sludge lagoons to a sequencing batch reactor.
  • Increases treatment capacity to approximately 15,000 people.
  • Modular in nature for simpler and less costly expansion when needed.
• Changes the lagoons from a treatment facility to clean water holding ponds.
  • Decreases risk of environmental hazards.
  • Increases options for recycled water re-use.
• Changes the disinfection process from chlorine infusion to ultraviolet light.
  • Reduced carbon footprint.
  • Substantial cost savings on chlorine.
